Termites |

Why use a P.E. |
Termites are wood destroying insects that borough through structural wood members and trees. The type encountered in the northeast region is the subterranian termite. They live below ground and travel through wood by means of a shelter, or mud tube. If left undetected, their damage to wood framing can be considerable. Our Engineer will search diligently for any evidence of termite presence. |

A closer look at the damaged double joist beam. |
Termites attacked this double joist beam. They destroyed half of the beam, and a structural repair was required. The repair violated a materials code. |
